I have not been maintaining this
sight much lately and a lot of you have been asking me what's
up with that? Well, back in July I accepted the job as head booking
agent for the Drunken Unicorn. This job takes up much of my time
these day as I have to book twice as many shows as I do under
the Tight Bros Network moniker. I will continue to book good shows
and update this web-site as much as possible even though I would
rather be outside playing with my friends. Stay tuned as there
are more great shows to be added to this site very soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.24.05
Thanks to everyone who came out
to see Ian Mackaye & Amy Farina's new band, The Evens, the
other night at Eyedrum. Whether you like their music or not, and
I'm sure a lot of you would have preferred to see Fugazi instead,
but sharing an intimate setting with such a unique and provocative
punk rock icon was something to behold and I'll cherish that experience
as long as I'm alive. Finally I've achieved a dream. What's the
dream you ask? It's not the fact that I did a show with Ian Mackaye,
but rather I did a warehouse show in hot-ass fucking June and
the heat didn't seem to bother anyone and those in attendance,
all 300 of you, seemed to embraced it. We even turned off the
air conditioning due to the imposing hum that seemed to distract
the band while they were performing, You gotta love that!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.17.05
Finally! I've updated the web-site with upcoming shows. I have
more to add as soon as they're confirmed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.11.05
Tight Bros Network would like to
introduce and welcome a new Atlanta/DC based record label named
Hoss Records who have two ambitious 12" split EP's slated
for release very soon . Their first release will be a split between
former Atlantan Jason Forrest aka Donna Summer while the other
side contains music from Ricky Rabbit from DC band Food For Animals.
The second release to follow on Hoss Records will be a Excepter
/ Leb-Laze split 12 inch record.

Sorry I've not been responding
to emails or been in touch with a lot of you. I'm sure you assume
I'm a just a dick, but I assure you I am not. Contrary to popular
belief, there is no other Tight Bros. It's just me handling day
to day affairs in the office here in Kirkwood. Although, that's
not entirely true because Nisa Asokan is the COO of TBN and provides
the infrastructure for it to function properly and with relative
efficiency. However she's busy with the Fifth Planet Press side
of business and not to mention we both have other shitty jobs
too. Perhaps I've served you ice cream or even washed your dishes
after you ate at that restaurant. I have no shame though so "put
it in your mouth soft, let it grow, hit the back of your throat.
Now you know. Tight Bros got them shows."
Tickets for the Atmosphere show
are going super fast! Criminal records only has 40 tickets available
for purchase at this point. Although, there's a chance I will
replenish their stock by a few dozen more if they run out by today.
If you are unable to purchase tickets, but still want to go to
this show, make sure you get to the venue as soon as doors open
at 8:00pm, aight!
The Diplo/M.I.A. show has been
set back indefinitely. There may be a make-up date in April, but
it's looking a little unlikely.
The Caribou (formerly Dan Snaith's
Manitoba) show is quickly approaching and things are beginning
to heat up for real! Dan Snaith formerly known simply as Manitoba,
which is named after a Povince in Canada, was contacted by no
other than megalomaniac Handsome Dick Manitoba, frontman for the
evidently not so punk band, The Dictators, with allegations that
Dan Snaith is in violation of trademark infringement and must
cease using the name Manitoba. My immediate reaction was
total disbelief, says Snaith. Most of the people
I've talked to about it are as confused by this case as I am.
Unfortunately, US legal precedent didn't agree and faced with
a court case that I couldn't afford to lose, I had no choice but
to change the name. It's gotten so bad that Handsome Dick,
obviously with too much time on his hands and a bad case of Google,
has checked up with Caribou's US tour dates and noticed that promoters
are billing the show as Caribou (formerly Manitoba) much to the
dismay of Handsome Dick and has insisted that the show be billed
as Caribou (formerly Dan Snaith's Manitoba). Is this silly or
what? This whole thing is an irritating distraction at a
time when I'm more excited about the music I'm working on than
ever before. I'm of the opinion that every second I spend talking
about this Dick guy is a waste of my time. Enough said Dan
Snaith formerly Dan Snaith's Manitoba now Caribou. May the force
be with you.

with Finesse and Runway aka Dino Felipe & friends? He will

Its hard to believe that
a year has gone by (maybe not) and Kirkwood Ballers Club is still
chugging along every Monday night at Lennys Bar. When I
started KBC back in March 2004, my intent was to provide an open
forum for experimental musicians and performance artist who found
it difficult to get shows here in town. I also wanted to create
an idea incubator of sorts to allow others to perform and experiment
with each other musically in an effort to create and nurture new
creative ensembles etc
I believe Ive succeeded in
doing this and more as KBC has exceeded any expectations I may
have had in the beginning. Please come out tonight to celebrate
this grand occasion and long live Kirkwood Ballers Club!

Apparently they decided to tour Europe instead.
I've been contacted by many of you regarding whether there will
be pre-sale tickets for the Atmosphere show and Notown Sound Festival.
All I can say at this point is that I'm looking into selling tickets
in advance very soon at a local record retailer here in town.
I will notify everyone as soon as I sort that shit out. Until
then, please feel free to contact me about any show you'd like
to attend and I will RSVP you and your friends when you arrive
to any TBN event , but make sure you arrive as the doors open,
which is usually 9:00pm unless stated otherwise. Oh, and bring
an ID.

please contact me asap(randy at tightbros.net). Your help will
be greatly appreciated.

and I have a special evening planned to honor this occasion featuring
many of the artist that have supported KBC every Monday at Lenny's
